Dear TMA Members and Friends,

I am honored to be writing to you as the new President of our Nevada chapter. As a fellow neighbor and business professional who has lived in Las Vegas for 25 years, I have witnessed as you, the many pivotal changes to our socio-economic landscape. They have been nothing short of breath-taking if not miraculous. Nothing better describes our state and our town, Las Vegas, than truly a "work in progress".

That expression suggests just how helpful the Turnaround Management Association can be to all of us as professionals and to our business community at large. The TMA is the only international, non-profit association, with 8000 members, dedicated to "corporate renewal and turnaround management". Our core membership is comprised of professionals: attorneys, accountants, bankers and practitioners expert in helping financially troubled companies navigate their way to some practical resolution if not a new path of growth.

However, the story of Nevada gives an additional and unique dimension to the TMA mission; for a work in progress can either move in positive or negative direction and be created in a constructive or destructive fashion. How often have we witnessed businesses and industries in our state being caught up in the momentum of high growth only to lose sight of the importance of having a strategic plan and execution? Sadly, we do not have to look very far to see the myriad of financially troubled businesses that have fallen victim to the lure of high growth at the expense of the big picture. Let's face it, if you do not grow your business right, you are going to need to be turned around. If there was ever a time to help resolve the challenges of our growth in today's economic climate, the time is now and TMA Nevada is the organization up to the task.

As a result, the membership of TMA Nevada is not only comprised of the talented professionals that are at the heart of the organization, but also business owners and executives who want to be better professionals. In fact TMA Nevada is one of the fastest growing chapters in the U.S.

I am honored to be in the company of such a talented, hard-working and dedicated local Board of Directors focused upon delivering programs and benefits that will enhance the professional horizons of our members and encourage business prospects for them. Under the Board's leadership, our organization has become a proven channel for growing in the right way using the right stuff.

As an organization and as a member community, we can look forward to a bright and challenging future. Under my stewardship, I pledge to continue to deliver, improve and expand upon the programs and benefits you demand and deserve. Together, as a "work in progress", we will move towards the continued growth of our professional lives and business community in the right way. Let's turn around in the near future and say, "we are all the better for knowing each other and for our association with TMA Nevada".
