Overview:

The Turnaround Management Association of Nevada will be delivering another provocative and profitable evening for its members on May 21, 2008 with its discussion: "Downtown Renaissance: The Turnaround of Our Urban Communities". A diversified panel of key insiders will give fresh insight into downtown's redevelopment with a view towards turnaround opportunities for TMA Nevada members.

Panelists:
Mike Darley Mike Darley is the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Fitzgeralds Casino and Hotel in Downtown Las Vegas. His responsibilities include the daily operation of the casino, hotel, restaurants, showroom and convention area as well as creating strategies and business plans to compete in a very challenging market. Additionally, Mike was intimately involved in preparing the business model and marketing plans for the Majestic Star property in Pittsburgh which recently was granted the sole license by the Pittsburgh Gaming Control Board.

Previous to Fitzgeralds, Mike worked for the Harrah's organization for over 18 years and Trump Casino's for 3 years. During these tenures, he was involved in all aspects of casino operations, marketing, guest services, hotel operations and brand transitions.

Mike has both a BA in Education and a Teaching Credential from California State University - Long Beach. He also did his Master's work in Curriculum Development at California State University - Dominguez Hills before transitioning into the gaming industry.

He is currently the President of the Board of Trustees for The Shade Tree Shelter, Vice President of the Nevada Youth Alliance, Past President of the Las Vegas Centennial Optimist Club, board member of the Southern Nevada Youth Gang Task Force, member of the Downtown Steering Committee and chairman of both the Freemont Street Marketing and Personnel Committees.
 
Leo Davenport
Founder and CEO of GFD Investments
Leo founded GFD Investments, a Nevada based mortgage company, in 1988 and is an involved and committed resident of Las Vegas of over 30 years.

Leo's community involvement includes having served on the Las Vegas Planning Commission from 2003 through 2007, he is immediate past President. He served on the Las Vegas Downtown Entertainment District Committee from 2004 through 2006.

GFD Investments provides mortgages for residential, commercial and construction purposes and has a private lending portfolio of over $20,000,000.

Leo is a vocal advocate for licensing and regulation of mortgage brokers. He was appointed by HUD to investigate mortgage activity in Nevada in 2002. Regularly invited by Nevada State Legislature, as a specialist, to testify on behalf of the mortgage industry; he has served on the Nevada Legislature Mortgage Advisor Council.

Leo is a past President of the Nevada Association of Mortgage Brokers, and has served on committees and as a delegate to the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.
 
John Restrepo John Restrepo is the Principal of RCG in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he directs the firm's economic and financial consulting activities. For eight years, John was the Director of Financial Advisory Services in Las Vegas for Coopers & Lybrand LLP. Before joining Coopers & Lybrand in 1990, he managed the Las Vegas office of Mountain West Research, a regional economics firm based in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to Mountain West, he was the Chief Operating Officer of a 40-person regional planning and civil engineering firm based in New Orleans.

For 28 years, John has analyzed regional economic and real estate trends in a number of markets, including Nevada, Arizona, California, Texas, and the Southeast U.S. His 20 years of urban economics experience has given him a broad range of skills and technical expertise in assessing the effects of local, regional, and national economic trends on urban real estate markets. His clients include some of the most prominent private and public organizations in Nevada concerned with development and growth.

John has spoken before a variety of business groups on a wide range of topics related to real estate, gaming and economic trends in Nevada, and has been quoted extensively in the local, regional and national media on real estate and economics issues facing the Western U.S.

John has a BA in Economics from the University of Louisiana. He also holds a MA in Latin American Studies/Economics from Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge.

He is the 2008 president of the Las Vegas chapter of NAIOP, a member of SIOR, and a Steering Committee member of the Urban Land Institute chapter in Las Vegas. Additional, John was appointed by Governor Jim Gibbons to the Nevada Economic Forum for a two-year term, where he is responsible for providing forecasts of the state's general fund revenues.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations/refunds may not be made on-line.

MORE THAN 7 DAYS BEFORE EVENT: Event registration(s) may be cancelled provided notice of cancellation is sent in writing to us by using filling out our contact form (choose "RSVP Change Notice") and received more than 7 calendar days before the Event. If cancellation is so received, a refund of any amount paid will be paid within 30 days after the Event. In lieu of cancellation, registration may be transferred to any other similar TMA NV Event held within twelve (12) months of the date of the original Event.

LESS THAN 7 DAYS BEFORE EVENT: Cancellations may not be made -- nor refunds issued. However, any registration may be transferred to any other employee or member of the same company or organization of the original registrant.

FAILURE TO ATTEND: Refunds or transfers may not be issued to any registrant who fails to attend a Event.
